Path to Excellence: Planning for Victory On and Off the Field

As we transition into the fall season, the focus naturally turns to college athletics. This is the time when the unwavering spirit and dedication of student athletes shine brightly on the field. Much like our Knights prepare for victory, it's a perfect moment to underscore the profound importance of planning, not merely as a task but as a mindset. Planning empowers us to shape our future, surmount challenges, and unlock our full potential.

Our recently unveiled five-year strategic plan, "Middle Georgia's Path to Excellence," represents the next exciting chapter in our ongoing commitment to charting a successful course for our university. This roadmap is our playbook, guiding us toward future growth by championing student success, leading innovation, sustaining fiscal resilience, and building our culture and identity. Just as a championship team relies on well-honed strategies, our strategic plan guides us on our path to excellence.

Middle Georgia State University remains steadfast in our commitment to transition Knights Athletics into the NCAA Division II. I am excited about national searches underway for an Athletic Director and a Vice President for University Advancement. We are looking for talented individuals to add to our roster, who will work to bring resources to Athletics and ensure we meet the USG requirements for athletic funding.

I encourage you to add a few athletic events to your calendar and be part of the excitement by attending some of the athletic events this semester. Let's come together and cheer on our Knights! I look forward to witnessing our positive impact as we craft the next chapter of our success stories – achieving victory on and off the field.

Go Knights!
