Dear MGA Community,
As we approach Commencement, I'm filled with pride for what our campus community has accomplished this academic year. This week, we'll celebrate more than 700 graduates as they earn their degrees, each embodying the values, determination, and excellence that define our Knights. I extend my congratulations to all our graduates on their tremendous achievements, as they have worked incredibly hard and deserve this moment of recognition and celebration.
This year marks our 10th spring graduation ceremony as Middle Georgia State University, and we have come a long way as a University over the past decade. From conferring our first master's degrees in 2016 to witnessing the inaugural cohort of our first doctoral program graduate in the spring of 2023, our growth has been remarkable. Our alumni network now includes more than 47,000 Knights who represent MGA throughout Georgia and beyond. Many choose to remain in Middle Georgia, strengthening our regional economy and communities.
I'm thrilled to share that our four-year graduation rate has experienced consistent increases over the past few years. This achievement reflects both our students' dedication and our faculty and staff's unwavering commitment to student success.
As we prepare to welcome hundreds of new alumni to our ranks, we should be reminded why our collective work matters: every graduate represents the combined efforts of dedicated faculty who inspire, diligent staff who support, and determined students who persevere. Each diploma signifies not just individual achievement, but our shared success as a Knight community.
Go Knights!
Chris
