State of the University 2025

Dear MGA Community,

The winter weather we experienced last week provided us with an opportunity to demonstrate our value of Adaptability, and I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who was able to join me today as I shared the State of our University at a rescheduled time and location. At the start of the academic year, I made the charge to focus on engagement and campus strength, especially for our undergraduate population, and the beginning of the spring semester is an opportune time to check in with our progress as an institution and to share things to come.

Highlights include:

  • We’ve experienced 6 consecutive semesters of enrollment growth. This milestone is a testament to our collective efforts, and we must continue to stay diligent and strengthen enrollment in all programs — particularly undergraduate.
  • On the fiscal front, we have reached full funding capacity with the final year of tuition increases. We have seen strong external support with significant government funding over the past decade totaling more than $70 million. This includes significant investments in our aviation program, our Dublin Campus, the Roberts Memorial Library and Dillard Hall, and much more.
  • Student engagement has been remarkable, with a record-breaking number of events being held — more than 600, a 17% increase from Fall 2023. We’re also experiencing growth within our Greek Life offerings, as Phi Mu will be joining us and is currently recruiting at MGA.

MGA President Christopher Blake gives his 2025 State of the University Address.

This Friday, we will be submitting our application for membership to the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s (NCAA) Division II. Upon approval, we will compete this fall with provisional status and be a member of the Peach Belt Conference. It’s an exciting time to be a Knight, and I hope you take the opportunity to engage with the Knights Athletic Association as we cheer on our athletes.

As we move forward this year, let us remember our institution is the strongest we’ve ever been — however, we need to maintain the right mindset and continue to embrace our value of Adaptability to navigate any challenges that we may encounter. Together, we can meet the challenges head on, grow as an institution, and continue to have a bright future.

Keep up the good work and Go Knights!

Chris
