Dimensions of Wellness

Dear MGA Community,

It was wonderful to see so many of you join us for the recent "Walk with the President" events on our Macon and Cochran campuses. These walks reminded me of something important: wellness isn't just a program or an event. It’s a mindset we cultivate together as a community.

Our value of Stewardship applies not only to others or to finances, but also to our own personal wellness and our care for ourselves. As we transition into fall and move toward the end of the calendar year, I encourage each of you to be intentional about your wellness. This season can be demanding, whether you're navigating coursework and exams, managing classroom responsibilities, or balancing professional deadlines. That's precisely why taking care of ourselves — physically, mentally, emotionally, and in all dimensions of wellness — becomes even more critical.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to our Wellness Committee for their collaboration with the campus community and their dedicated work on wellness initiatives across our campuses. Your efforts are making a meaningful difference. In honor of National Coaches Day earlier this week, I also want to recognize our coaches who lead the way in demonstrating the importance of physical fitness and activity as a vital component of overall wellness.

Our Division of Student Affairs has made the Dimensions of Wellness a yearlong focus, offering programs and resources designed to support you holistically. Students, I encourage you to explore these opportunities and find what resonates with you. Wellness looks different for everyone, and these initiatives provide multiple pathways to discover what works best.

For faculty and staff, our Health and Wellness Festival offers excellent opportunities to engage with wellness-focused events. I hope you'll take advantage of these programs as we support one another in prioritizing our wellbeing.

Whether it's joining a walk, attending a wellness event, or simply taking a moment to check in with yourself, let's commit to making wellness a priority throughout the year.

Here’s to a vibrant season ahead. Go Knights!

Chris
