A Season of Reflection and Gratitude

Dear MGA Community,

To start off, let me introduce you to a new member of our campus community: I'm pleased to welcome Merritt Wall, who joins us today as our new Chief Government and Community Relations Officer. Merritt brings valuable experience and a deep commitment to strengthening our connections with government partners and the communities we serve. Please join me in welcoming Merritt to the MGA family.

Along with new colleagues, November at MGA ushers in its welcome moments of reflection and opportunities to express gratitude. My thoughts turn to those who have shaped our lives and our nation. As we approach Veterans Day, I'm reminded of the profound sacrifices made by the men and women who have served in our armed forces, particularly those at Robins Air Force Base and within our local communities. Here at MGA, we're privileged to have nearly 150 veterans currently enrolled in our programs, along with more than 100 active-duty service members pursuing their education while serving our country. Their dedication to both service and scholarship enriches our entire campus community.

On that note, I invite you to join us for our annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, at Coleman Hill. This ceremony provides us with an important opportunity to come together to express our gratitude and recognize the courage and commitment of our military members, veterans, and their families.

As we move through November toward Thanksgiving, let us carry forward this spirit of gratitude — for those who serve, for the opportunities we share, and for the vibrant community we continue to build together at Middle Georgia State University.

Go Knights!

Chris
